With over 25 years’ experience in Local Government working in a variety of roles including planning, regeneration, European funding and economic development, John has recently been appointed as Head of Regeneration and Economic Development, with wider responsibility for leisure services and Maidstone’s Museums. Qualifying as a Town Planner in 1991, he moved into Economic Development in Hove and Folkestone and Hythe District Council and later in Maidstone. Place shaping is increasingly important in changing values and attracting investment and John’s lead role in delivering capital projects extends to public realm improvements, office conversions, direct housing development and strategic land and property acquisitions.
