Head of Communications, FSB
Louise Stewart joined FSB in March 2016 as Head of Media and was promoted within a few months to Head of Communications. Louise is often seen on national and regional media representing the views of small businesses. At the FSB she is able to put to good use almost two decades of experience as a broadcast journalist. She enjoyed a successful career in broadcasting - both with the BBC and ITV. Louise was a graduate BBC News Trainee and went on to become a national news political correspondent – appearing on Breakfast News, the Today Programme, 5 Live and even Newsround. Before joining the FSB Louise was Political Editor for BBC South East - a role which saw her interviewing politicians from all parties including party leaders and Prime Ministers.
Louise is passionate about supporting small businesses in particular and also women in enterprise. She believes it’s crucial to encourage woman – and girls to reach their full potential. Louise is a mentor to several young female journalists and she is also an advocate for the Speakers for Schools programme, which is a charity aimed at helping state schools inspire their students and broaden horizons through access to the insights, experiences and expertise of today’s leading figures through free talks.
